Wind Runaway & Visual Range

Background & purpose of project
This project is to install the Wind and Runway Visual Range System (WRVR) at 16 airports throughout Peninsular and East Malaysia.
The system consists of one set of wind and Visibility sensors, and will be installed at the ends of the runway. The weather data captured by the sensors will be transmitted over wireless network to the Malaysian Meteorologist Department’s station located nearby for further processing. The derived information will then be made accessible by ATC via internet through a web browser. All the data generated in every airport will eventually be transmitted to a Central Management Monitoring Systems (CMMS) at MMD headquarter.
